Description
Quick and easy chicken burgers packed with moisture from cream cheese and tangy ranch flavor, ready in under 15 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground chicken (mix of thigh and breast)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (approx. 1 oz)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs (optional)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking oil (olive or avocado) for pan-frying
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, mix softened cream cheese and ranch seasoning until combined.
- Add egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; whisk until smooth.
- Add ground chicken and shredded cheddar cheese. Gently mix by hand until just combined. Do not overmix. Fold in panko breadcrumbs if using.
- Divide mixture into 4 equal portions. Wet hands with water or oil and shape into patties about 1/2 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add oil until shimmering.
- Place patties in the skillet without crowding. Cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side until golden brown.
- Flip burgers and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side.
- Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Remove from heat and let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is softened but not melted. Do not overmix the chicken to avoid dense burgers. Let burgers rest for 2 minutes to redistribute juices. Can be baked at 375°F for 20-25 minutes or cooked in an air fryer at 375°F for 10-12 minutes.
