Description
Crispy, smoky bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers stuffed with a creamy cheese mixture. This quick and easy appetizer is perfect for parties, game day, or a spicy snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6–8 medium jalapeño peppers
- 12–16 slices thick-cut bacon
- 8 oz block cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Wash jalapeños and slice them in half lengthwise. Use a small spoon to scrape out seeds and white ribs. Pat dry thoroughly with paper towels.
- In a medium bowl, mix softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.
- Press a spoonful of the cheese mixture into each pepper half, creating a small mound. Do not overfill.
- Wrap a slice of bacon around each stuffed pepper half. Tuck the end under or secure with a toothpick to keep the filling inside.
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place wrapped peppers in the basket in a single layer without overcrowding.
- Cook for 7-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until bacon is crispy and browned and cheese is bubbly. Alternatively, bake in oven at 400°F for 15-20 minutes or grill over indirect heat for 10-15 minutes.
- Let rest for 2 minutes to allow cheese to set. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.
Notes
Dry peppers thoroughly to ensure crispiness. Use thick-cut bacon to prevent burning. If using an oven, place on a wire rack for better air circulation. Do not microwave leftovers as it makes bacon soggy; reheat in air fryer or oven.
