Description
A quick and easy weeknight meal that transforms frozen cheese ravioli into a cheesy, bubbly casserole in under 20 minutes of active time. Perfect for busy parents needing a reliable dinner solution.
Ingredients
Scale
- 16–24 oz frozen cheese ravioli
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Optional: Cooked ground sausage, pepperoni slices, or diced ham
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add frozen ravioli and cook according to package directions until tender, but undercook by 1 minute. Drain well.
- While pasta boils, heat marinara sauce in a bowl or pot. Stir in minced garlic and Italian seasoning. Mix in optional protein if using.
- Toss the drained ravioli with the seasoned sauce until evenly coated.
- Pour the pasta mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Add the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Scatter pepperoni on top if using.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly browned.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow cheese to set.
Notes
Do not overcook the pasta before baking as it will continue to cook in the oven. Ensure the pasta is well-coated with sauce to prevent dryness. Letting the dish rest for 5 minutes makes serving easier. For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free ravioli and check sauce labels.
