Description
A quick and easy weeknight dinner featuring flaky cod fillets cooked in an air fryer with a rich, savory garlic butter sauce. Ready in under 15 minutes with simple ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cod fillets (6–8 ounces each)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh flat-leaf parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- Rinse cod fillets and pat them extremely dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
- In a small bowl, combine softened butter, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, and parsley. Whisk until smooth.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick spray or wipe with oiled paper towel.
- Place cod fillets in the basket in a single layer without overlapping.
- Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
- Open the basket and brush the top of each fillet generously with the garlic butter mixture.
- Return to air fryer and cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove from air fryer and let rest for 1-2 minutes. Spoon remaining butter over the top and garnish with parsley and lemon wedge.
Notes
Ensure cod fillets are patted very dry to prevent steaming. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary. If garlic burns, lower temperature to 380°F (190°C) for the second half of cooking. Cod is done at 145°F (63°C).
